Foody was a Midwest Radio nominee at this year's "New Local Hero" competition with Ireland Music Week.
Debuting in July with "Take Your Hand", BIMM Dublin songwriting graduate Liam Foody is an emerging indie artist with a feelgood sound. In his new single, "Waiting For You" Foody's introspective songwriting continues to shine through against a rich, indie-driven sound poised to charm indie fans in Ireland and beyond.
The song is infused with nostalgia, exploring the complexities of relationships and their ever-changing nature. Produced by fellow Mayo musician Kriss Burda, whom Foody met through a Music Generation camp when they were just sixteen, "Waiting For You" sat on Foody's computer for nearly two years before finally coming to life. Reflecting on his artistic collaborations with Burda, Liam shares:
"We have always had a shared love for rock music and finally came together to work on my first single 'Take Your Hand', which was released in July. The response to the song was hugely overwhelming and it only made sense for us to collaborate again on my latest track 'Waiting For You'.
I always knew it was going to be a great track, but it wasn't until I showed it to Kriss in the studio that it flourished into the final track you hear now. Once I heard the finished version, I knew it was the perfect song to release as my second single. Lyrically, the song deals with a right person, wrong time scenario. Sometimes things in life don't always fall into place like you expect them to. 'Waiting For You' represents the acceptance of this and the understanding that some of the best things in life are worth waiting for"
Nodding to fellow Irish indie sensations The Academic and Inhaler, "Waiting For You" serves as a warm second introduction for those who may have missed Foody's debut. "Waiting For You" marks the perfect moment to join the journey of a rising Irish artist stirring conversations about love, time, youth and patience, and doing so with a stylistic indie flair.
