The Dublin trio are a rising alternative rock act with a dark, powerful sound
The band's new single, "Black Cinema" was recorded between Darklands Studios and their home studio, both in Dublin, with drums engineered by Daniel Doherty, Mixed by Didier Parra and mastered by Pete Maher. Their fourth single to date, the song is steeped in their now-characteristic melancholic and dark sound, all delivered through introspective lyrics that always hit home.
Exploring various metaphors related to change and the passage of time, the single delves into how these impact the human tendency to overthink. Being one of the band’s new favourites to play live, it smoothly blends the tastes of each member into a cohesive whole. Built with an earworm bass riff, attentive drum grooves and grunge-tinted guitar dialogue, we can hear the band's ambitions shining through, flowing over into B-Side, "Rearrange". A little heavier than "Black Cinema", it conveys the perfection of imperfection, dealing with expectations, and navigating the complexities of life. With a strong 90’s influence, this song serves as a reminder that for the band, it’s not always about reinventing the wheel; sometimes, that same wheel can take you to new places.
